Cascadia celebrates opening of new residential treatment facility

A Place of Healing & Hope

On Tuesday, June 17, Cascadia Health celebrated the opening of its newest residential treatment facility, Treeline at 174th.

Lined by historic Douglas Firs, Treeline will offer 10 beds to our community, serving adults experiencing symptoms of serious mental illness and other complex medical conditions. Need for the services offered by Treeline and Cascadia’s other residential programs is high, and we are so excited to bring this place of hope and healing to Portland.

The residential facility also highlights the important partnership between OHA and local treatment providers in addressing the behavioral health needs of our community members. OHA provided $2.4 million from House Bill 5024, which allocated $130 million, in the 2021-23 biennium, to expand community based licensed residential facilities and supportive housing for individuals living with severe mental illness.

Several speakers helped celebrate Treeline’s opening, including: Ebony Clarke, Behavioral Health Division Director at Oregon Health Authority, one of the funders that made Treeline possible; Cascadia CEO James Schroeder; and Senior Clinical Director of Staffed Housing Jaclyn Najera, who was instrumental in bringing the Treeline program across the finish line.

Catering was provided by Cascadia Health’s Alberta Kitchen. The Alberta Kitchen project kicked off officially last year, doing the vital work of offering standardized nutrition services to our residential programs. Thank you also to Greg Murphy, a Cascadia staff member, for photography.

Cascadia Health also thanks Portland’s Friends of Trees for donating fresh tree seedlings, which we presented to those who helped make this remarkable facility possible.
