When you or another person is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, you should have help. Someone to call, someone to respond, and somewhere to go.
Our goal is to give you as many options as possible for help after a crisis. We give support based on your own needs and life. Our multi-disciplinary team includes counselors, social workers, Peer Specialists, recovery mentors, and alcohol and drug counselors. We’ll meet you where you are and help you stabilize after a behavioral health crisis. Along with the Mobile Crisis Team, Project Respond also provides special services with different teams who are ready to provide the help you need, in the least intrusive way possible.
Multnomah County provides someone to call with its Behavioral Health Call Center and the national mental health line, 988.
Cascadia Health provides someone to respond with its mobile crisis team, Project Respond, and then somewhere to go with its Urgent Walk-in Clinic.

Crisis Respite
Crisis Respite is designed to provide short-term stability and supports to individuals who are experiencing a mental health-related crisis. This is a community-based alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, or as a step-down from higher levels of care. Respite is a voluntary program, which works collaboratively with residents and community treatment providers to address an individuals’ treatment needs, while also resolving their particular crisis. Respite occurs in a supportive atmosphere, away from everyday stressors that may impact an individual’s sense of wellness.
We provide a stable home-like environment with lounge areas, three meals a day cooked and served by staff, medication reminders and assistance, and safety planning and ongoing support and assessment of needs.
Individuals are supported in their wellness goals and recovery. They are also encouraged to maintain contact with their family, friends, and community during their treatment.
