Initial site plans outlining the new Centennial Place Apartments

Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare announced plans to develop a new affordable housing site located at 164^th and SE Powell Blvd. The new Centennial neighborhood site will be modeled after the success of Cascadia’s first integrated housing and healthcare center, the Garlington Health Center & Garlington Place Apartments in NE Portland.

Centennial Place Apartments, which is the permanent affordable housing component of the project, has received funding awards from the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Housing and Community Services, as well as a rent subsidy commitment from Multnomah County. Construction will begin in late summer/early fall 2020 and is scheduled to be completed within 14 months.

Centennial Place Apartments will have 71 units of affordable housing, including 15 studio units, 32 one-bedroom units and 24 two-bedroom units. 18 units will be set aside for people with a mental illness and the remaining 53 units will be used as affordable housing for households with below 60% of the area median income. These units will have a preference for households with students enrolled in the Centennial School District whose families are identified as homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
