Cascadia welcomes community to newest residential facility

Mountain View brings 10 new treatment beds to SE Portland

This fall, we celebrated the opening of Mountain View, Cascadia Health’s newest secure residential treatment facility.

Mountain View in SE Portland expands Oregon’s behavioral health system by 10 beds—providing care for adults experiencing serious mental illness and complex behavioral health needs.

On Sept. 3, we gathered with community partners and elected leaders to celebrate this milestone and welcome the community to this space of healing and hope.

The open house recognized the years of planning, collaboration, and dedication that made this new facility possible. During the event, attendees heard remarks from Cascadia Health Senior Director of Integrated and Secure Residential Services Veronica Porter, CEO James Schroeder, and Oregon First Lady Aimee Kotek Wilson before touring the facility and learning more about the vital role secure residential treatment plays in our continuum of care.

The name “Mountain View” reflects both our Pacific Northwest home and the journey of recovery itself. As shared during the ceremony, recovery is not always a straight path, but one that can reveal new possibilities and perspectives along the way. Mountain View was designed to provide a safe, structured environment where individuals can access treatment, build skills, strengthen connections, and work toward greater independence.

A special highlight of the celebration was a commemorative cairn-building ceremony, symbolizing the many paths toward healing and the collective effort required to support recovery. Guests also had the opportunity to explore the facility, meet members of the Mountain View team, and learn more about secure residential treatment services.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Mountain View a reality, from the staff who will provide compassionate care each day to the partners whose support helped bring this vision to life. Together, we are expanding access to care and creating new opportunities for healing, hope, and recovery across our community.
