Joshua Latham from Healing Hurt People, a hospital-based violence intervention program at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, works around the clock with victims of shootings, stabbings and assaults to offer the tools they need to end the cycle of violence.
Through the Healing Hurt People program Joshua mentors boys and men of color between the ages of 10 and 25 and assists them in finding housing, jobs and other community services helping to turn their lives around.
Healing Hurt People just celebrated their one year anniversary and has had measurable results; none of the young men involved in the program have retaliated or been reinjured.
