On the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act (signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968), our new Garlington Place welcomed 52 new residents through its doors.  As part of the new Garlington Campus, affordable studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in the building were available to Cascadia clients, veterans, and displaced North and Northeast Portland residents.

Garlington Community Manager Tasha Criss was one of the first to move in. “Garlington Place felt like home the moment I walked through the doors. It’s an honor to be the first to move in and experience the newness of the building. The apartment is bright with modern features that make it very comfortable. I truly enjoy calling Garlington Place home!”

“We are really excited to have reached this milestone”,  says Jim Hlava, Vice President of Housing.  “We are looking forward to having the entire campus completed this summer, and seeing the true impact of this innovative community-centered model.”
