Waitlist Opening October 29, 2026

The affordable waitlist for Lafayette Court will open Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT. This waitlist will remain open until 50 applications are received.

This waitlist opening is for units that are not subsidized. Applicants must have income or a tenant-based voucher/rental assistance to qualify if they have zero income.

  • Studio rent: $650 (minimum income $975 per month)
  • 1-bedroom rent: $800 (minimum income $1,200 per month)

To qualify, applicants must be at or below 50% AMI (Annual Media Income, annual) which is $45,200 for 1-person or $51,650 for 2-people.

HOW TO APPLY

There are 3 ways to apply for this waitlist: online via Rentcafe, sending waitlist application via email, or applying in person.

Apply via Rentcafe:

We recommend reading these instructions so you can get familiar with the system before the waitlist opens. This system requires that you create an account and that you accept the terms and conditions for RentCafe.

With Rentcafe, you may pre-register before the waitlist opens. Pre-registering is the process of either making an account with RentCafe, or linking an existing RentCafe account with the specific waitlist you are applying for. Please note that even if you pre-register your application in advance, you will still need to start your application after the waitlist opens.

Applicants will need a unique email address in order to register and apply. Using one email address for several applicants (i.e., case manager using one email address for multiple clients) will not work.

Fill out the waitlist application which you can download by clicking here. Fill out all sections and email to waitlist@cascadiahealth.org.

Applications will not be accepted until the date and time the waitlist opens.

Apply in person:

Applicants can go to the Cascadia Health Administrative Building office, located at 847 NE 19th Ave Suite 100 Portland, OR 97232, and fill out an application in person on the day the waitlist opens.

For all applications:

  • We will need to contact applicants, so a phone number and/or email address are required.
  • For all household members 18 and older, we require their full name and date of birth.
  • If you are working with a case manager or advocate, please provide their contact information.

8714-8728 SE Lafayette Street — located in the Lents neighborhood of Portland

Lafayette Court is a 32-unit apartment community in SE Portland within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Owned and operated by Cascadia for individuals and families with mental illness and/or disabilities, located on two frequent service bus lines and a MAX station just a few blocks away. The building features unsubsidized studio and 1-bed apartments with onsite laundry facilities and part-time community manager that lives onsite. Please note, this building does not have an elevator.
