In October, Cascadia Health President and Chief Executive Officer, Derald Walker, PhD, announced his plans to retire this coming spring 2025. Cascadia Health’s Board of Directors has formed a search committee and will conduct a national search for the organization’s next CEO.

Last week, Acumen Search Executives–a local woman-owned recruitment firm specializing in executive searches within the healthcare industry that is supporting the search committee–posted the job description officially launching the national search.

For more than 40 years, Cascadia Health has been a community behavioral health and housing safety net provider within the Portland-metro region. Today, as both a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC-LA), Cascadia Health provides integrated Whole Health, including mental health, addiction recovery, primary care, housing, crisis intervention, and wellness support to more than 18,000 individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay.

Cascadia’s next CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors, leadership team, and staff to ensure Cascadia delivers high-quality, accessible care to underserved populations while adhering to its mission, vision, and values.
