Cascadia Health Kicks Off Its Annual Culture of Caring Gala
Raising awareness and providing support for whole health, housing, and community.
Portland, Ore. – Cascadia Health, Oregon’s largest community behavioral health and housing organization will kick off its 2023 Culture of Caring Gala on October 12, preceded by an exclusive donor celebration on October 5. The annual benefit supports Cascadia Health’s vision of integrated mental health, primary care, housing, and wellness supports.
“The need for these services has never been more crucial,” said Derald Walker, PhD, President & CEO of Cascadia Health. “Supporting Cascadia means supporting a lasting way to make a difference in the lives of the more than 17,000 individuals and families we serve each year.”
The gala will feature live music and art, as well as the stories and voices of clients and staff, demonstrating the impact Cascadia Health services have on the lives of clients and highlighting the incredible impact of community support. In addition, the gala is an opportunity to recognize individual contributions to health, housing, and community through the Culture of Caring Health & Housing Award and Civic Engagement Award. This year’s honorees include Representative Rob Nosse, HD 42, and Jeff Heatherington of the Heatherington Foundation for Innovation and Education in Healthcare, respectively.
“Housing is health. And our mental health and physical health are interconnected,” said Walker. “Our gala brings together our community to ensure Cascadia can continue to champion that vision of integrated, whole health. And as Cascadia continues on our journey toward truly integrated, whole health, we are grateful for those who’ve supported us every step of the way.”
Live music will be presented by Gabriel Kahane, Creative Director for the Oregon Symphony, and the Pacific Rose Ensemble. A live art exhibit will be presented by Megan Beltz of Portland.
