Community message: Standing together to support clients, staff, & community
Community members,
Over the past week, over a dozen far-reaching executive orders have been signed, causing confusion, anxiety, and fear across our community. We hear your concerns and understand your fears.
Please know that no matter what impact these orders may have, Cascadia will stand by our values and continue to serve our clients, staff, and community.
Cascadia Health remains committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Cascadia Health continues to provide gender-affirming care.
Cascadia Health remains committed to ensuring staff and clients of all gender identities are treated with respect and consideration.
Cascadia Health will refer to individuals by their pronouns and use the gender markers they request.
Cascadia Health believes that everyone, regardless of their immigration status, has the right to access healthcare, shelter, and other social services, and we will continue to provide information and resources to our staff and clients about their rights.
If the federal government continues to attempt to block federal funding, Cascadia Health will continue to work with our state and local governments and partners to ensure services are not disrupted.
And finally, we will continue to lead with our values: accountability, determination, equity, innovation, knowledge, organizational health, respect, and wellbeing. These values drive our work and our commitment to the communities we serve.
At the end of the day, this is a time that calls for compassion, and we hope everyone will continue to take care of one another and show each other grace. By focusing on what we do best (as individuals and as an organization and community), we can contribute positively to the world around us.
In appreciation of all you do,
Sincerely,
Cascadia Health Board of Directors
Cascadia Health Executive Team
