Elevate Your Voice is an annual event to support and be in community with STIRY (Supporting Trans and Immigrant Refugee Youth) and community members. This year’s event is highlighting we are Still Connected and we will be hosting a panel discussion and featuring artists as we come together. This annual public events has been a way for community members to gather, connect, support, network and share their stories with the larger community.
Supporting Transgender Immigrant & Refugee Youth (STIRY) is a group of providers, community members, youth, and early adults collaborating to address barriers in healthcare and social service systems for transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse immigrant & refugee communities. STIRY is working to create inclusive and equitable healthcare systems and close the gaps between services for transgender and gender diverse immigrant and refugee youth. We believe in working directly with youth and actively including their voices and leadership in this work. We operate from social justice and health equity lenses in empowering and elevating voices of this most disfranchised community and increasing positive experiences of transgender refugee & immigrant youth in our health system and in our community at large.
