Cascadia Health hires safety and security leader
After an extensive search, Cascadia Health has selected a new leader to guide its organization-wide safety and security strategies.
Alex C. Jones, a security industry professional and military veteran, will begin in April as Cascadia’s Director of Security.
This new position will supervise Cascadia’s current team of safety staff and help steer ongoing security initiatives across all sites, including health centers and residential locations. Jones will report to executive leadership.
“I’m thrilled to help propel Cascadia’s efforts in safety and security,” Jones said. “Safety is core to any organization that meets people’s whole healthcare needs. And it takes commitment at a strategic level to embody the principles of trauma-informed safety and security. That’s where I hope to make an impact.”
Jones draws upon 20 years of combined experience in law enforcement and security roles in the military service and private sectors. His career began primarily in the U.S. Air Force, with roles in program supervision and safety training. After almost 15 years in the military, he transitioned to county government leadership as a program supervisor in a local juvenile detention facility in Virginia. He then served as a parole and probation officer at Multnomah County’s mental health unit, working with individuals who were diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and an associate degree in criminal justice from the Community College of the Air Force in Alabama.
“We’re delighted to welcome Alex to our team,” Eric Sevos, Chief Strategy Officer at Cascadia Health, said. “His unique skillset and expertise will be an asset to Cascadia. This position will align with our comprehensive plan to improve safety at Cascadia while also ensuring a welcoming and positive environment for staff, community, and those we serve.”
