To our Whole Community,

In a year marked by deep relationship building and growth within our community and internally, Cascadia’s team of extraordinary people showed up. For our clients, for our community, and for each other. As we look back, we celebrate the many ways we worked together to improve access to holistic care, housing support, connection, and stability—delivering Whole Health and honoring the courage and strength of those we serve.  Read our 2023-2024 Annual Report for a full picture of all we accomplished together. 

In addition, there is much to anticipate as we look forward. We will celebrate the legacy of our President and CEO, Derald Walker, who announced in October his plans to retire this coming spring. For 16 years, Derald’s leadership safeguarded and reinforced Cascadia as a leading community behavioral health safety net for those experiencing mental health and addiction challenges, homelessness, and poverty. Today, under his direction, Cascadia is at the forefront of Whole Health, providing integrated mental health, addiction recovery, primary care, housing, wellness supports, and crisis response to those in our community as both a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC-LA). We look forward to honoring his career and accomplishments this coming spring. 

As we close out another year, we write from a place of gratitude, grace, and grounding. Complex issues remain throughout our community and within healthcare, but we remain proud of what we’ve accomplished and the many lives we’ve touched, and we are hopeful that Whole Health is achievable.  

Grounding ourselves in our values and giving each other grace and compassion as we navigate the new year, we are committed to finding even more ways to support our people, engage and care for our community, and serve as responsible stewards of our resources.
