In a night of celebration, Cascadia Health staff were among the professionals recognized Friday, Nov. 15 at United We Heal Training Trust’s graduation ceremony.

The United We Heal graduation and recognition event highlighted Qualified Mental Health Associate and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor apprentices who completed their requirements for certifications by participating in the apprenticeship programs over the last two years. United We Heal is a partnership between AFSCME Union and various Employer Training Agents, including Cascadia Health.

In total, 14 Cascadia Health employees completed their certifications by participating in the apprenticeship program, and three were represented in-person at the event: Jimmy Campbell, Lysandra Robnett and Phillip Maggi. Jimmy and Lysandra served as speakers at the graduation. Other grads who completed from Cascadia not in attendance were Eza Morrison, Geraldine Van Buskirk, JP Edge, Jeanne Marie Bohenek, Joseph Harrington, Melissa Solorio, Michelle Kerron, Oliver Wallace, Rene Alton, Shaniqua Burton and Valerie Richardson.

Congratulations to all the talented graduates!

Graduates shared the following feedback:

  • “I’d encourage anyone and everyone to take part in it if it’s available to them.”
  • “I really enjoyed working with United We Heal. I appreciated the communication and the monthly check-ins. I also was lucky enough to receive supportive services of help with gas cards and groceries.”
  • “I had an amazing time being a part of the apprenticeship program. I loved how hands-on, engaging, and time-relaxed it was. Also, I liked that you always knew how to get help if you were stuck, and that someone would get back to you quickly with any concerns/questions you had.”
  • “Let me start by saying my experience was overwhelmingly positive. The counselor role was one I had planned to develop when starting with Cascadia and the UWH program was a welcome, and convenient, way to achieve that goal. The efficiency of the program cannot be overstated.”
  • “…the curriculum itself I found to be comprehensive. I was able to pass my certification with a minimum of outside study, which speaks volumes to the quality of the information taught. I really do feel that it is a valuable program and would recommend it to any who have the opportunity.”
  • “I especially appreciated the structured guidance and mentorship that was provided. The hands-on learning experience opportunity allowed me to build a career with skills that have become essential in my role. I felt truly supported by both United We Heal and the Cascadia leadership team.”
